FOOD DRIVECLOTHING DRIVE

Through You, All Things Are Possible

Food and clothing drives address the immediate, everyday needs of individuals and families in crisis. By providing essential resources like nutritious food and clean, well-fitting clothing, these drives help reduce the burden of financial strain and promote dignity. They strengthen communities, ensure that no one has to go without, and create opportunities for individuals to regain stability and hope for the future.

The lists below provide an overview of year-round needs. For more opportunities to donate, see Seasonal Donation Drives and Food Drives.

Food Donations

Our goal is to provide each family with enough basic food for one week. What we give them depends largely upon what we have been given by our generous donors. Since our beginning in 2005, we have never turned anyone away due to not having enough food.

We provide a variety of nutritious and culturally specific options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our pantry is equipped with refrigerator and freezer space. This allows us to offer fresh and frozen options, like meat, eggs, and dairy products. We also offer personal hygiene and household and baby care items.

Food Donation Best Practices

Check dates on all food packaging prior to donating. Discard any items if the “use by” date has passed.

Check dented cans to ensure the seal is unbroken. If the lid pops or gives a bit when pushed, please discard. If the lid doesn’t, we’ll still accept the item.

Check food item packaging to verify they are not in soiled containers, boxes or rusted cans.

Host a Food Drive

Tackling hunger takes a team. When you host a food drive with your friends, family, or coworkers, you provide much-needed food and household items that our clients need most. Consider hosting your food drive during the spring or summer months when we see the biggest decline in donations to the food pantry.

To get started, click the Registration button below and complete the form.  We’ve also added a printable document for our most-needed items throughout the year. Just download it and share it with others.

Benefits of Hosting a Food Drive

  • Promotion of your organization as a philanthropic group
  • Community engagement
  • Community service experience for employees
Amazon Grocery

During your Food Drive, you can also direct participants to our Amazon Grocery list for them to make their food donations. Participants just need to add items of their choosing to their cart and then check out. Food items are then shipped directly to WayPoint Resources.

New Clothes Give Confidence

The WayPoint Resources Clothing Closet relies on the generosity of our community to be able to supply children with quality, current-style clothing they feel confident wearing to school. Inadequate clothing is a humbling, very visible consequence of poverty. Many children are affected in painfully silent ways that can diminish their quality of life and opportunities. Lack of proper clothing can lead children to skip school and have behavioral and academic problems.

Thank you for helping the youth in our community feel confident going to school in clothing that will allow them to focus on their schoolwork, without feeling self-conscious.

Clothing Closet

Our vision is to empower children with clothes that promote self-esteem and remove any obstacles to learning created by a lack of proper clothing. Stepping into our Clothing Closet, clients are surrounded with clean, new, and like-new clothing arranged by size and neatly displayed on racks and shelving. Clients shopping in this space are delighted to find clothes they are proud to have their children wear.

Host a Clothing Drive

It takes a community to make a difference. By organizing a clothing drive with your friends, family, or coworkers, you can help provide essential apparel and accessories to those who need them most. Hosting your drive during the spring or summer is especially impactful, as these are the times when clothing donations typically decrease.

Getting started is simple! Click the Registration button below to sign up, and check out our downloadable flyer highlighting the items most in demand throughout the year. Share it widely to inspire even more contributions!

Benefits of Hosting a Clothing Drive
  • Your donations go directly to local children who attend schools near you
  • You generate positive awareness for Waypoint Resources and all of the services we provide
  • You make it easy for people to give by hosting a donation location at a place they often visit
