There may be a time that you or someone you know needs help, but don’t know exactly what kind of assistance is available – let alone how to access it. 2-1-1 can assist by helping to clarify your personal situation and then utilize an extensive up-to-date database to determine the best resource(s) for you. 2-1-1 is a free, comprehensive information and referral system for Iowa residents.

Crisis Intervention and Advocacy Center
Servicing victims/survivors of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, homicide, violent crime and those experiencing homelessness. Services are free, voluntary, confidential, and available to all without discrimination.

Dallas County General Relief
Residents in Dallas County facing a financial crisis may be eligible for emergency financial assistance for shelter, utilities, medical services, or burial. Applications are available online or call for availability.

Dallas County Resource Directory
The Dallas County Resource Directory helps locate a variety of services, including financial assistance, medical care, housing, aging, child/parenting, substance abuse, mental health, and more.

Iowa offers hawk-i health care coverage for uninsured children of working families. No family pays more than $40 a month. Some families even pay nothing at all.

Health Navigation – Dallas County
Health Navigators connect clients with resources to meet their needs, this may include assistance filling out paperwork, completing phone calls, and learning how to navigate the healthcare system. Navigators meet at home or at a location convenient for the client.Â

Polk County General Assistance
