Supporting A Growing Family

When a young family in our community learned they were expecting twins, their joy was quickly met with challenges. With two little ones already at home and Mom facing a difficult pregnancy requiring a long hospital stay, life became overwhelming almost overnight.

Dad made the brave choice to take time away from work to care for their children at home — but that meant the family suddenly faced a financial gap.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, WayPoint Resources was able to step in with financial assistance to help them through this critical season. Even more, we connected the family with a partner agency who provided cribs and strollers, ensuring that when the twins arrived, they had what they needed to thrive.

This family’s journey is just one example of the hope, stability, and community support that your partnership makes possible. For 20 years, neighbors like you have helped families through their hardest moments — and together, we continue to live out our mission of Love to Serve.

Turning Fear Into Comfort For Little Ones

At a recent back-to-school event, a family with three little girls walked into our free Health Clinic with apprehension. Earlier in the week, they had visited a public health office for routine immunizations, and the sight of an exam room felt overwhelming.

Our nurses and medical student volunteers turned fear into fun. Using playful techniques — like “looking for monkeys in their ears” — they helped the girls feel comfortable while completing their physicals. One of the girls didn’t pass her vision screening, but our Health Clinic volunteers we were able to connect the family with public health and school nurse referrals for additional eye care.

This story highlights how our free Health Clinic goes beyond routine check-ups. For 20 years, WayPoint Resources has provided compassionate, accessible care that helps families thrive — showing what it truly means to Love to Serve.

Finding Strength After Setback

After a serious workplace accident, one single woman in our community faced an uphill battle. Her recovery lasted way longer than expected, and after exhausting her savings and reaching the end of her short-term disability coverage, she found herself unable to return to work — and with nothing left in her home to eat.

That’s when a caring neighbor pointed her to WayPoint Resources. Here, she discovered not only our food pantry, where she shops monthly, but also our Anytime Food Room, where she can access rescued food on a daily basis. Beyond this immediate relief, our team also walked alongside her to complete a SNAP application, ensuring she has longer-term support while she continues to heal.

Her story is one of resilience—and of the difference a caring community can make. Thanks to friends like you, she is not facing this journey alone. Together, we are living out our promise to Love to Serve.

When a local school referred a single mother and her high school son to WayPoint Resources, they had just arrived in our community under heartbreaking circumstances. Fleeing a domestic violence situation, they left their home state with nothing but the clothes on their backs, seeking safety and a chance to rebuild.

At WayPoint Resources, they were met with care and practical support. Her son received clothing, school supplies, and a backpack — helping him start a new school year with dignity, confidence, and the reassurance that he belonged. For this family, these simple but essential items provided more than material support; they represented a new beginning in safety and hope.
